Here is a selection of recent paintings.
Besides the usual work on matters and incorporation of new materials, the researches are also oriented in light / matters interaction, which leads to focus on black and white light.
Light and matter are essential to one another. Light reveal the positioning of the matter in space, but matter give its consistency to the light. No matter about pigment, it is only a matter among others.
Painting with matters is not only using the own light of materials and pigments (internal light of the painting), but it's also using external lighting.
Indeed, external lighting will be reflected on planes of materials according to theyr inclination, theyr volume, and the reflectivity of materials. This external lighting will also create real shadows on the canvas.
Reflexion of light will depend on the inclination of planes of matter. This is why light distribution will be built through the volumes.
The colour is replaced by the texture; the line is replaced by the shadow, the surface is replaced by the volume.
